Uganda student protection & retention

Every learner deserves to feel safe, supported and able to finish school.

Zedoaid helps schools and communities identify dropouts, drug-related risks and bullying early—then coordinates private, accountable support until the learner is safe and back on track.

How Zedoaid works

A protected pathway from report to resolution.

  1. Report safely

A learner, teacher or community member shares only what they know. Anonymous reporters get a private reference and PIN to follow up.

  2. Triage and protect

Trained staff assess urgency, duplication and safeguarding risk, and choose the least intrusive way to check the concern.

  3. Coordinate support

Authorised school and referral staff receive specific tasks without unnecessary disclosure of the child’s identity.

  4. Follow through

Outcomes, recurrence and return to school are monitored, while dashboards use de-identified figures only.

Built for a whole protection network

Each person sees only what they need to act.

Students & the public

Anonymous, mobile-first reporting with a private reference to track progress and a one-tap safe exit.

Schools

Verified headteachers, safeguarding leads and teachers manage assigned cases, re-entry and prevention plans.

Zedoaid teams

Administrators, case officers, auditors and M&E staff work through separated permissions and audit trails.

Community & faith leaders

Approved leaders receive privacy-preserving trends and specific referral tasks within their coverage.

District authorities

DEOs see authorised school figures; CAOs and RDCs receive area trends and escalations for their mandate.

Ministry officers

National, regional and district comparisons, equity gaps, emerging patterns and intervention effectiveness.

Privacy is part of protection

Names do not belong on every dashboard.

Zedoaid separates identity from analytics, masks sensitive fields by role, records every access, and prevents public leader dashboards from exposing a child or anonymous reporter.
